Rock 'n' Roll Princess Wears Black

Music class and recess totally rock, but being teased in school and ignored at home totally stinks. Stefani Lucas is a rockin’ sixth grader who loves music and dresses like a mini hipster in all black, but there's one thing cramping her style - her lame baby brother who manages to hog all the attention from her parents.

When classmates tease her about her clothes and even double dare her to (gasp!) wear another color, Stef decides a minor makeover may be in order.  Can Stef change for others and still stay true to herself?

Having once been a rock 'n' roll princess and now as a mother having a rock 'n' roll princess I could relate to this story on so many levels. I loved the witty heroine Stefani who like any 6th grader is still finding her style and learning how to be confident in her own shoes. The language and writing style is entertaining with so many moments throughout that capture very real life situations. A deeper meaning is brought across when various events have Stefani learning so much more than just how to fit in at school. An excellent choice for any would be princess to rock star and all others in between.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
